I am referring here to 3-dimensional representations of a book or software box, not mere flat, 2D images. A 3D book cover or box image inspires confidence in your potential buyers, and this promotes more sales. But to inspire trust, you need to use quality cover images, not something that looks thrown together. How To Design eBook CoversYou have several options to choose from when creating an ebook cover: 1.
Free ebook cover software programs. The ecovers created with these
freebie programs are generally only marginally acceptable. 2.
Fee-based ebook cover software produces better results, ranging
from so-so to very good. The prices for these programs vary. Some
offer a demo version you can try out before buying. (See my recommendations
below)

If you have Adobe Photoshop and are at least fairly familiar with
using this professional graphics software, you can buy a set of
actions (scripts) that will produce 3D renderings
of your book or box cover.
The three options above require a certain amount of graphic design skill to obtain quality results. They take what you put together (images, text, and colors) and produce a 3D likeness. You still need to design a nice looking, compelling, flat cover image and choose readable fonts. 4.
Another option is to create a 3D representation of your ebook
or software package yourself, from scratch. Obviously, you will
need a considerable amount of skill and experience in graphic
design and in using the right software.
