You wrote your book or created software
or another product. Now it's time to promote it.
What type of graphic will you need?
Well, that depends on what you're selling. Your purpose is to
give a visual representation of your product. So you need to choose
an image that represents your product(s) and supports your sales
message.
Are you selling an ebook, report,
CD, DVD, video, software, or a combination of products? Then visually
represent those products!
Use an ebook cover image when selling
an ebook, a flatter image for reports, a CD image for CDs, a DVD/video
cover or CD jewel case for videos, and a box image for software
and bundled products.
Give an accurate representation.
Don't use a thick book spine when selling a 10-page report. If
you do, you can expect more refund requests. If you are selling
a report, you can use a special report image or a spiral bound
notebook image.
Some people make comment that their
ebook that doesn't have a book cover. It doesn't matter. Show
an ebook cover image! You are not misrepresenting your product.
Your sales letter tells your prospects that your selling an ebook.
You are just making your ebook more 'real" and more "visible"
to your prospects by providing an ebook cover image.
Let me just clarify something here.
An ebook cover is a small image that is different from a hard
book cover. It may look like a hard book cover but it isn't. It's
a lot smaller and it doesn't have the high resolution that a printed
hard book cover has. You can turn your printed hard cover into
an ebook cover but you can not turn an ebook cover into a printed
book cover. If you need a printed book cover, you must start with
the larger, high resolution image.
