Boost Credibility With Quality eBook Covers

• Include the book title. Make the book title larger and bolder than any other text on the book cover.
• Consider including the author's name and the web site URL on top of a graphic to make it harder for people to steal your images and add their own name. Use a smaller font size for those.
• Use a smaller size text for additional text such as a subtitle and the author's name.
• Consider adding a subtitle and bullets (don’t overdo it).
• Don't use too much text on your cover. It won't be readable anyhow.
• Don't use too many or too little background graphics.
• Avoid large open spaces.
• Put your book title on the spine of large book and box images.

Fonts

• Use bold readable fonts. especially for your book title.
• Be aware that many fonts are not looking good in the small size required for book covers. Arial, Futura and Impact are good fonts for book covers.
• Use colors that contract with your background to make your title stand out. Depending on your background colors, red, white and yellow often work well.
• Make your fonts stand out with shadow and outline.

• Avoid free clipart images you see all over the web. You want to be unique.

• Photographs often work well for ebook covers.
